Flight Lessons...


	Lessons are given in the mornings, generally between 7am and 10am, when the air traffic and the winds are low. The instruction is given in Schweitzer 2-33 gliders and all lessons are by scheduled appointment. This allows for the best training conditions and personal instruction possible. 	To qualify as a sailplane pilot, previous flight experience is not necessary. To meet the requirements for private glider license, you must be 16 years of age, and have logged 2 hours of solo time in gliders, including 10 solo glider flights and pass a written and flight exam given by the FAA. Minimum age to solo is 14 years of age and no medical certificate is required.


	A private Pilot, in order to obtain a private glider rating, needs 10 solo glider flights, an instructor recommendation flight and an oral and flight test by an FAA Examiner.


	People with little or no gliding experience:

		Approximate cost to Solo (about 35-50 flights)................

		Approximate cost from solo to private glider license, minimum of 2 solo hours and 10 glider flights.................


	$1800-$2100

	$1500-$2100


	You must pass two written exams, an oral exam and a flight test to receive your gliders license.


	Licensed Power Pilots:

		Approximate cost to Solo (about 15-30 flights)...............

		Approximate cost from solo to private glider add-on (need a minimum of 10 solo flights)..............................

		Approximate cost from solo to commercial glider add-on (need a minimum of 20 solo flights)..............................


	$1000-$1400

	No written test is required but you must pass a flight test and an oral test.
