About Cascade Soaring, we've been around awhile!


About us...


	At the conflux of the North/South forks of the Yamhill River is McMinnville, a scenic town in the Willamette Valley. Topographical and climatical conditions lend themselves to create some of the most interesting and challenging situations for you to experience the thrill of silent flight.


	Cascade Soaring is located in the beautiful Willamette Valley, about 27 miles southwest of Portland Oregon and we offer flying lessons and glider rides to scheduled customers. Being in service for over 15 years and operating out of the McMinnville municipal airport we have been spoiled with the beautiful vistas of the valley and mountains of Oregon. Why don’t you spoil yourself and come fly with us too!

Join us for a glider ride or a lesson program all the way through to your glider pilots license. Currently we sport a flight line of nine gliders and tow planes with FAA certified commercial pilots and flight instructors giving you the best the Northwest has to offer.

		About the owners

By Car take Highway 99W to Highway 18, travel south for about 4 miles to McMinnville Airport, turn left on Cruickshank Road and the first right on Airport Road. We are about 3/4 of a mile down the road on the right. Click here for a map to the field.

By air, land at McMinnville Airport (Unicom 123.0), with two 5,000’ paved runways (field elevation=160 MSL). Eleven NM from the Newburg VOR on Radial 194.


	Our operations generally start in early March and will go through the early part of November (weather permitting). Operating on weekends*, we offer lessons in the morning from 7am through 10am. After that we are open to the public for rides, either scheduled (recommended) or walk-on.
